Throughout the winter months, we have been working hard dyeing more yarn, and preparing new products. We are excited to finally be sharing the results of our hard work! All these new items are now available on our website, ready for you to checkout and buy!
First, we are now offering larger cakes of yarn in both our sock/fingering weight yarns: Prairie Crocus and Trillium. They are available in the natural beauty of undyed yarn, and in our own hand-dyed (kettle-dyed) colours. Both are soft luscious yarns perfect for any project that calls for a fingering weight yarn. They blend our mohair with a fine wool, and Prairie Crocus has an additional 20% nylon in its blend, making it an outstanding choice for knitting socks. Each cake weighs in at 250 grams, giving you a generous amount of yarn: approx. 968 yards (885m) for Prairie Crocus and approx. 895 yards (817m) for Trillium. So each cake is a perfect amount for your average medium sized shawl, or an over sized scarf, cowl sets, or of course, multiple pairs of socks!
We are proud to now be offering Prairie Crocus in sets of mini-skeins! Each set includes 5 mini skeins, a skein is approx. 77 yards (70m), 20 grams for a total of 385 yards (350 m), 100 grams. Why not knit a lacy shawl or scarf with smooth colour transitions using one of these gorgeous gradient sets? Or if you prefer contrasting colours sample one of our colour collections, perfect for knitting a striped scarf or adding touches of colours to any fingering-sock weight yarn project! The possibilities are endless!
And we are delighted to tell you that one of the designers we work with, Nataliya, is already working on a pattern using a gradient set. We’ll keep you up to date with her progress!
While we were dyeing we began experimenting and have come up with some new variegated colour mixes we are very pleased with!Checkout Caramel Blizzard in Pauline (our DK weight yarn) and Metallic Swirl in Arctic Wolf (our Boucle yarn). They were fun to dye so we are looking forward to doing more soon.
While we were doing all this experimenting we did restock our regular yarn skeins so please do checkout the website to see all the new colours that are now available!
More dyeing is scheduled for later this month. The goats were just sheared and sorting the fleeces is the big job we need to do now. Then it will be back to the dye pot!
We look forward to hearing what you think of these new additions to our yarn selection! Happy shopping!
